i decided to do something fun this new year, in honor of the days of old. days when things like SOPA were thought impossible. days when our desire to give to one another outweighed our desire to take from one another.

in lighthearted celebration of the tradition of my hungover ass eventually logging on to block, geezer, rem, box, erie, or shells to update the MOTD and edit the date in index.php3 to reflect the new year, i created an animation of my doing it.

i'd say i miss the past, but i don't. i miss being outnumbered. by the best kind of people. i hope in my heart you're all out there somewhere, remembering the good things sharing can bring about and the good times that can be had with an open heart and an open mind.

so in 2012, do us all a favor and change the world. do it while you follow your heart. do it in the spirit of sharing. make something that wasn't here before real. make something that you found here better.
